Chiswick was one of the first garden suburbs of London with the architecturally noted 1870s Bedford Park area which has many attractive Queen Anne revival style houses situated in tree-lined streets. To the south is the Grove Park area and the open spaces of Chiswick House and grounds. There are pleasant walks along the river towpaths past historic public houses at Strand-on-the-Green.
Chiswick High Road is lined with trendy shops and the side street of Turnham Green Terrace is a one-stop shopping utopia for foodies. Chiswick offers excellent eating houses ranging from gastro pubs to award winning restaurants. There are also excellent local schools both private and state funded and recreational facilities
A number of celebrities have taken up residence such as Colin Firth, Timothy Dalton, Vanessa Redgrave, Jeremy Irons, Dennis Waterman and Kate Beckinsale as well as the television personalities Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.
Chiswick is a great location with easy access to and from all areas of London. It is close enough to the West End that getting to central London is easy. It has three Underground stations and quick access to the M4 motorway for Heathrow airport and the west.
